Master SN2 reactions by lining up a nucleophile for a true backside attack while balancing steric hindrance, leaving groups, and solvent effects. Explore interactive 3D molecules, see real-time stereochemical inversion, and tune conditions to lower the energy barrier. Progress through bite-size levels, test yourself in exam-style challenges, and experiment freely in Lab Mode. How to play:Choose a level or enter Lab Mode to focus on a specific reaction scenario.
Rotate the substrate to expose the backside and align the approach for an SN2 attack.
Select the nucleophile, leaving group, and solvent to adjust reactivity and conditions.
Manage steric hindrance by choosing appropriate substrates and smaller, stronger nucleophiles.
